VOIP Call Bandwidth Consumption
In VOIP system,voice quality lies on your network bandwidth to a large extent. Every codec type has different codec rate. So it brings diffrent bandwidth consumption. In the following we can calculate each codec type bandwidth consumption.
Calculation Formula:
Total packet size = (L2 header: MP or FRF.12 or Ethernet) + (IP/UDP/RTP header) + (voice payload size)
PPS = (codec bit rate) / (voice payload size)
Bandwidth = total packet size * PPS
